Athlete/Sport-Specific Conditions

Getting you back in the game!

In addition to being experts in musculoskeletal care, primary care sports medicine physicians can diagnose and treat a variety of other conditions and are familiar with the specific demands respective sports can have on the body. Dr. Clearfield is able to perform sports and camp physicals, develop programs for performance enhancement, and treat injuries unique to certain sports (ie: auricular hematoma that can cause cauliflower ear in wrestling, MMA, and other contact sports). Dr. Clearfield worked as a personal trainer for years before becoming a physician, so he is able to blend his experiences as a trainer and a sports medicine physician to give personalized exercise prescriptions. He is also able to perform pre-competition OMT which has been shown to enhance athletic performance and decrease the risk of injury in competition. Give us a call today to get you moving!
