How you can submit to your insurance

While we do not use your insurance, you are more than welcome to!

Motion is Medicine has chosen to forgo health insurance so that we can provide you better care (read more about why we made that decision HERE).

Although we do not accept insurance and are considered out-of-network, you may still be able to receive reimbursement for some or all of your appointment charges from your health insurance.

You can begin the process by contacting your insurance company to see whether you are able to submit a claim for reimbursement.* If they will reimburse you, you can request a copy of your superbill at the end of your visit at Motion is Medicine. You will then submit the superbill along with your receipt to your insurance company.

If you would like a company to assist you with submitting your claim, some of our patients have used Reimbursify.

After doing this you may see that working with the insurance company is not that easy. This is something doctors have been fighting for years, and is part of the reason we have decided to leave this system so that we can provide you better care.

Below is an example of a superbill you would receive at our clinic. There are several important parts of the superbill to understand that are highlighted.

* Dr. Clearfield has opted out of Medicare/Medicaid to better serve his patients.  This means that Medicare does not pay for any covered items or services you get from an opted-out doctor or other provider, except in the case of an emergency or urgent need (urgent care or ER).
